About Peter de Bruijn

After being sworn in as a lawyer in 1986, Peter ran his own practice specialised in contract law (especially leasing) and non-life insurance law for eight years. When mediation emerged as a specialism in family law, Peter’s practice shifted in the same direction.

A special year for Peter was in any case 1994: he not only became a mediator, but he also became partner of our firm and deputy judge at the District Court of ‘sHertogenbosch.

As a well-known specialist, Peter has many years of experience in family law, especially in divorces of (partners of) entrepreneurs, managing directors and majority shareholders, and professional practitioners, such as medical specialists and business services providers. Peter’s economics background is also extremely useful: accountants have complimented him more than once on being “…one of the few lawyers who can actually do the maths.”(!)

Peter may be characterised by his perfectionism and optimism. He cares greatly about his work and clients and will not lose his sense of humour under pressure. Sports and music are a way of release for Peter from his busy practice. Privately, too, he is a real family man. Besides his family, sailing is his greatest passion.
