About Sofie Steen
As a student at the University of Amsterdam, Sofie became fascinated by health law. After her Master’s in Health Law and Constitutional & Administrative Law, she started work in 2014 as a junior researcher at the VU University Medical Center Amsterdam and as a junior associate in health law at a law firm. In 2016, Sofie moved completely into legal practice.
Within health law, Sofie has a particular interest in long-term care. She focuses specifically on the Care and Compulsion Act and the Compulsory Mental Health Care Act. She publishes fairly regularly on this subject and also enjoys giving lectures about it.
Sofie likes spending her free time with friends and family. She also enjoys getting onto her racing bike and, having left Amsterdam, she has fun discovering what the exuberant city of Den Bosch has to offer.
